change the fellowship status

Hello,

I have been granted with a doctoral fellowship for 3 years, and when I filled up the application forms I specified (by mistake) that the whole work would be carried out in Portugal. Would it be possible to change the status of the fellowship, in the sense that the PhD thesis be the result of a collaboration between the Portuguese institution and another foreign institution? That is, to have to PhD directors, one in Portugal an another one outside Portugal. This way, I would share the time working in Portugal and outside.
Please let me know if this is possible. Thank you.

Hi,

Even though you state your work will take place in Portugal (thus what is called a "national grant"), you can spend up to 3 months per year performing your work abroad, and qualify for a higher stipend for that period. If that is not enough, I really don't know if and how you can change your grant, but there's certainly someone with that experience around here who can give you advice.

Best regards,
JC
