Research Associate
Ablynx is a biopharmaceutical company engaged in the discovery and development of Nanobodies™ to treat a range of serious human diseases.
Nanobodies™ are a novel class of therapeutic single domain antibodies. To strengthen the Lead Discovery team, Ablynx is interested in immediately recruiting a motivated research associate, to its branch in Porto.
Responsibilities
* Quality control and storage of immune samples
* Selection of candidate lead molecules from immune samples
* Functional screening of antibody fragments
* Small scale protein expression and purification in microbial systems
* In vitro characterization of candidate lead molecules
* Summarize and report results in English
Your work will also involve some administrative responsibilities such as
purchase ordering.
Qualifications/skills
* University degree in (molecular) biology, or biochemistry, or
substantial experience in molecular biology
* Experience in performing molecular biology techniques such as
DNA/RNA preparations, RT-PCR, restriction analysis, cloning,
electroporation.
* Experience and\or knowledge of immunological techniques such as
ELISA, IP, Western blot would be an asset
* Prior experience with tissue culture is a definite plus in addition
to skills/knowledge with flow cytometry and cytometric cell sorting
* Sense of initiative, flexible and creative
* Highly motivated, result oriented team player with excellent
communication skills
* Excellent knowledge of English and Portuguese
