POSTDOC ‘QUANTITATIVE GENETICS’

The Position
The Postdoc will work in the broad field of quantitative genetics research. Main topics of research are advanced genetic analysis (e.q. QTL mapping in complex populations), modeling of trait prediction based on genotyping and predicting future breeding strategies. This research will be integrative part of either the various internal upstream programs or of the breeding programs of our clients. The research will encompass complex data analysis, modeling and visualization. The Postdoc will work together in small teams under supervision of a senior scientist.
The Candidate
Required:
- PhD degree
- Ambitious researcher with a strong vision on quantitative genetics
- Good knowledge of state of the art statistics and mathematics
- Relevant scientific track record in the area of quantitative genetics
- International scientific experience in plant molecular genetics
- Customer orientedness
Preferential:
- Strong links with molecular plant breeding
- Familiar with scripting in statistical environments like R, Genstat or SAS
- Skills in algorithm development and programming
- Working experience in a business environment
Postdoctoral program:
You will participate in our postdoctoral program. This program provides scientifically interesting topics and a thorough base for individual training and development to prepare for a biotechnological and/or academic career. In your day-to-day work you will be coached by a mentor. The postdoctoral program offers you possibilities to write patents and scientific publications, visit seminars, give presentations and to gain experience in a commercial environment.
