The Beijer International Institute of Ecological Economics

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences invites applications for the position of Director of the Beijer International Institute of Ecological Economics. The major objectives of the institute are to carry out research and stimulate cooperation between scientists, university departments and institutes that are working at the interface of ecology and economics. Cooperation efforts include research and training both nationally and internationally. The Beijer institute is one of the Royal Swedish Academy’s research institutes and is situated in Stockholm. We are looking for someone who
- Has a distinguished research record in economics or ecology and who is familiar with interdisciplinary research and international scientific collaboration

- Has an extensive international network and understands the importance of building networks
- Has experience and skills in fund raising
- Is open to new ideas and prepared to spend time with the researchers at the institute; a team builder
- Has administrative skills and experience in personnel management (at present 12 staff members)
- Has excellent communication skills

The Director will be appointed for a 6-year renewable period and will reside in Stockholm. The salary for the position is negotiable, and will be in accordance with Swedish standards, taking into account the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
