Job Description

UGM is now announcing one Research position on Sediment Dynamics. Given that this position is a follow up to a previous contract, it will have a duration of 57 months. UGM aims to reinforce the Sediment Dynamics domain, both in relation to processes of shallow marine, coastal and estuarine environments, and modern and past sediment response to processes occurring from shallow to deep-sea environments.
Candidates are expected to be familiar with geological coastal sediments and processes and should have good knowledge of sedimentology, isotopic and other geochemical techniques useful to reconstruct regional and largescale
circulation and weathering processes, in particular to investigate past variations in bottom water masses (origin, characteristics, circulation paths, velocity).
Applications have to send by email and should be composed of an application letter, CV with reference list, a statement of research interests, and the contact of three possible referees to fatima.abrantes@lneg.pt with copy to Joao.Ferreira@lneg.pt by 15 February 2012.
