PhD Position in Molecular Biology/Biochemistry/Structural Biology
Your tasks
Our group investigates the structure/function relationship of microtubule plus-end tracking proteins (so called +TIPs), which play a crucial role in all microtubule-based processes and in the development of cancer. You will be involved in cloning, expression, and purification of target sequences and in the characterization of the resulting materials by biochemical and biophysical methods, including X-ray crystallography. The project is carried out within the structural biology group at PSI, which offers excellent facilities for molecular biology and structural research at its synchrotron, the Swiss Light Source. For further information on our projects, see

Your profile
You hold a Diploma/Masters or equivalent degree preferably in Biophysics, Biochemistry, or Molecular Biology. Practical skills in Molecular Biology and Protein Chemistry are highly desirable and proficiency in written and oral communication in English is required. Being a self-motivated, organized, creative, and enthusiastic team player is essential to ensure your success in completing your Ph.D. in this exciting, dynamic and extensively growing field of research.
The thesis will be carried out as a graduate student of the Department of Biology at ETH Zurich, which offers an excellent graduate students program (for further information, see
