Course objective
This course intends to provide sufficient understanding and technical know-how so that participants can confidently apply and build on this training in other practical situations. The ultimate goal is that course participants will apply the yeast two hybrid technique to their own work, as they acquire the necessary skills and confidence.
Course content
This course is designed for post-graduate students and other investigators interested in developing a better understanding of the yeast two hybrid methodology. Participants should have a good background in molecular biology. The course will be a four-day event, and will start with an overview of the yeast two hybrid methodology that will be applied and practiced throughout the workshop. Several seminars will be given by experienced scientists on the topics covered. Hands-on practical sessions will follow, providing ample opportunity for participants to practice the relevant techniques. The course finishes with a seminar by an expert on a recent development of the yeast two hybrid system from the Clontech company. Participants will have time for informal discussions about specific and personal issues with the experts.
